How To Pack Fragile Items While Moving—Tips and Tricks To Pack The Glassware

It is difficult to pack a dish box I’ve seen people complain about the damage often. Dish boxes, or dish packs, are dedicated packing boxes or cartons which are used to guard your fragile and delicate items.  Long distance moving companies in Camden NJ prefer to pack the dishes and glassware in a different, double corrugated cardboard carton.

What are card boards cartons built of?

The cartons we use in moving are built with a single layer of corrugated cardboard, the regular ones aren’t the idea to pack, but the dish box has a protective double layer of corrugated cardboard. This additional layer of protection increases the cost of the box itself but provides the required strength to the carton to protect delicate items like glassware. Make sure you pack only the fragile items in the box. If it isn’t glass-ware or a vase or anything similar, use the regular cartons for that. Best moving companies in Camden NJ will let you see all the packing process.

Use a lot of packing paper:

Two to three layers of packing paper are the basic rule of packing dishes. The more packing paper you use, the more fall-proof your meals will become.

Fill the empty space with some kind of stuffing:

There are so many kinds of stuffing available in the market, cotton ball, Styrofoam, thermocol mesh, plain towel rags, and paper mesh. Fill the empty space inside the box with crumpled packing paper or another stuffing material to make sure the dishes never move inside the carton.

Plan a single carton:

Plan to fill every container by spreading the stuffing or crumpled paper in the bottom of the package.
The bottom has to be shockproof to provide the best landing ground to the dishes. For a cushion like support, spread a thin layer of Styrofoam sheet in the bottom.
Place the prepared dishes in the carton and carefully repeated the stuffing on the top. With either Styrofoam sheet or crumpled paper, seal the top half of the cardboard. Another layer of crumpled paper at the top should be used to give the box a firm head and protect the top layer of items. Seal the carton with a good quality tape to ensure none of the items falls out of the box. However, tape the carton in the last so that you can revise the elements of the box one last time.

Label the box. This is essential, I have seen homeowners this small step carelessly. Labeling the carton will enable you to unpack efficiently, and you won't have to open every box to find one item.

How to pack dishes (tea sets, dinner sets in particular):

Wrap each item like a plate or a cup individually with a sheet of packing paper or bubble wrap.  The best way to wrap a cup or a plat is to Lay it near the far corner of a sheet of paper, roll the item diagonally to cover it completely, Tuck in the ends of the paper as you finalize the wrapping. Once the item is wrapped, place it into the box in rows.  Carefully Place the heftiest items on the bottom of the carton and the lighter items at the top of the container.
